The Ministry of Justice has implemented another initiative aimed at strengthening methodological support to ensure that municipalities organize their activities in compliance with the law.
Within the framework of providing methodological assistance to municipalities in accordance with Article 49-1 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the Status of Municipalities", the Ministry’s Main Department for Work with Municipalities has prepared a methodological guide entitled "The Status of Municipalities and Administrative Supervision over Their Activities."
The guide provides a detailed explanation of the legal status of municipalities as institutions of local self-government, their areas of activity, the regulatory legal framework governing this field, as well as the legal basis and procedures for exercising administrative supervision over the activities of municipalities.
The publication is intended to enhance the legal knowledge of municipal members and employees, provide methodological support for ensuring the lawful organization of municipal activities, and improve efficiency in the field of local self-government.
Municipalities are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the methodological guide and to be guided by the legislative requirements reflected therein in their future activities.
