Minister of Justice informed his foreign colleagues about the mass murder committed by Armenia in Barda

Under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army resolutely prevents the enemy's military provocations.

Mr. Fikrat Mammadov, the Minister of Justice has addressed his special appeal to the foreign ministers of justice regarding the mass murder committed in Barda as a result of the launch of ballistic missiles and cluster bombs prohibited by the international law by occupying Armenia which was defeated on the battlefield, without giving up the inhumane actions targeted on civilians.

The appeal informed about the horrors of the terrorist and military provocations against our country, especially the events in Barda committed by Armenia, which became even more ungovernable due to the lack of reaction of the international community.

It was noted that on the 28 October shelling of the city of Barda (50 km from the conflict zone) alone resulted in the death of 21 civilians and the injury of more than 70 people. Meanwhile, one volunteer of the Red Crescent Society of Azerbaijan was killed and 2 more wounded, while providing humanitarian aid to the civilians of Barda. It was stressed that these atrocities committed by Armenians do not fit into any humanity.

In total, as a result of these barbaric attacks, since the beginning of the conflict, more than 90 civilians have died, including 11 children and about 400 civilians have been injured. In addition, some 3,000 residential buildings and civilian objects were destroyed or seriously damaged.

Besides that, the oil pipelines are also being targeted, the damage of which will harm the Europe’s energy security significantly.

It should be particularly mentioned that these attacks are made from the territory of Armenia in order to internationalize the conflict and involve third countries in it.

The UN Secretary General and the European Union issued statements condemning the attacks on populated areas, noting their total unacceptability and stating that all shelling of civilians and civilian objects must be stopped immediately.

Unfortunately, Armenia continues to ignore such calls due to which the number of civilians killed and wounded is constantly growing. Even members of the diplomatic corps, who had been visiting cities under the attack, were subjected to artillery shelling. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

In addition, Armenia, using civil aviation, under the pretext of humanitarian aid and in violation of the Chicago Convention, is engaged in the illegal supply of weapons to the country. In this context, Azerbaijan has appealed to ICAO.

It was noted that despite a clear advantage on the battlefield, Azerbaijan, which, contrary to Armenia, fights without any external assistance whatsoever, is against continuing the bloodshed and for the sake of saving people’s lives expresses is readiness for peace negotiations in order to resolve the matter by political means.

The Minister of Justice expressed hope that they would take effective measures to protect the lives of civilians by drawing the attention of foreign colleagues to this problem again.

Having regretted to be forced to re-draw their attention to this problem, the Minister of Justice expressed his hope for an adequate reaction in order to save the lives of the civilian population.
