The Notary Chamber, an independent self-governing body of notaries, has been established and operating effectively to coordinate the activities of notaries within the framework of reforms in the justice system, to enhance their professional training, to promote good practices in this area and to realize international cooperation under the leadership of the President Ilham Aliyev.
The Azerbaijan Notary Chamber is represented at the 29th Congress of the International Union of Notaries in Jakarta, Indonesia, which unites about 90 countries worldwide. The event was attended by Chairman of the Notary Chamber Huseyn Mammadov, notaries Elmar Karimov and Azar Hajiyev.
The Congress discussed the legal issues of the notary principles in the XXI century and the ability and activities of individuals and other relevant issues, there was emphasized the important role of the notary in regulation of stable civil circulation in the countries with continental legal system, in protection of the rights and interests of the natural and legal entities, in lowering to minimum the judicial disputes, it was noted that new opportunities were established for formalization of electron notary services in the period of global economic development and digitalization, and two countries –Belarus and Lebanon were admitted to the Union.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation held meetings with the President of the International Union of Notaries Jose Markeno de Lyano and other officials, and useful exchange of ideas was made on notarial activity.
