The Ministry of Justice carries out probation control and executes sentences not related to isolation from society. The Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice was established in accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 10, 2017 “On improving activities in the penitentiary field, humanizing punishment policy and expanding the application of alternative punishment and procedural coercive measures not related to isolation from society”.
The activities on probation control are as follows:

Organization of the execution of non-custodial penalty;

Fine;

Deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle, hold a certain position or engage in a certain activity;

Public works;

Correctional work;

Implementation of probation control over persons sentenced to punishments in the form of restriction of liberty;

Control over the execution of duties imposed by legislation or by the court on persons who have been conditionally sentenced, conditionally released from punishment early or whose sentence has been postponed by the court, and who have been assigned compulsory medical measures for the purpose of treatment of alcoholism or drug addiction;

Organization of the implementation of probation control over the compulsory treatment of persons who have committed an administrative offense involving administrative arrest and who need treatment for drug addiction in a specialized medical institution;

Prevention, social adaptation and rehabilitation of new crimes committed by persons over whom probation control is carried out;

Organization of the implementation of administrative reproof in the form of public works.
