Legal relations are of special significance in the Azerbaijani-Belarusian friendship relations and effective cooperation. Thus, important agreements on cooperation between the Ministries of Justice of the two countries are being successfully signed and executed, exchanges of delegations, joint events are being held. On November of the last year the Minister of Justice of Belarus visited Azerbaijan and presented at the international conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Justice, there was made exchange of useful ideas and experiences.
As a continuation of cooperation, Minister of Justice of our republic Fikrat Mammadov visited to Minsk on the invitation of his Belarusian colleague to take part in an international conference devoted to the 100th anniversary of the Ministry of Justice of Belarus.
The minister of justice of Belarus Oleg Slizhevski, head of the Belarusian Presidential Administration, chairman of the Constitutional Court spoke at the opening of the conference entitled as "The role of the justice authorities in the formation of a legal state", which was attended by heads of the justice authorities of Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The conference was dedicated to the development of justice system and new challenges in the legal state and was important from the point of view of the exchange of positive experiences.
O.Slizhevski, speaking with large lecture, told about the centennial history of the Ministry of Justice and its development path, gave detailed information about the realized reforms and innovations and noted that he benefited from effective legal cooperation with different countries, including Azerbaijan, ASAN service and other positive experience of our country.
The Minister of Justice of Azerbaijan F.Mammadov spoke in the conference and expressed his congratulations on the occasion of anniversary and emphasized the exceptional role of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in development and rising in the level of strategic partnership of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus, as well as noted the successful cooperation of the judicial authorities.
He also pointed out the realization of reforms and innovations made in the field of justice and judiciary and estimated in international world, as well as appliance of electron systems and services, as well as he informed about the measures held in humanization of punishment policy, as well as activity of Probation service in execution of alternative punishments for deprivation of liberty and appliance of electron control means according to the Decree of the President on February 10, 2017.
The tremendous results of the Armenian-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the fact that 20% of our territories occupied by Armenia and more than a million of our compatriots have become refugees and internally displaced persons were brought to the attention.
Other reports were listened, discussions and exchange of useful ideas and experiences were made at the conference. The speakers welcomed the progressive reforms of Azerbaijan in the field of advocacy and notary related the authorities of the Belarusian Ministry of Justice.
A bilateral meeting of the ministers of justice of Azerbaijan and Belarus was held within the frame of the event. The high level of cooperation between the two countries was highlighted at the meeting and there was noted that, there are broad perspectives for deepening of mutual cooperation.
Speaking about the comprehensive progress and intensive reforms during his visit to Azerbaijan, the Minister of Justice of Belarus said that Azerbaijan knows about great successes of our country and intends to apply our achievements in the legal field in his country.
Local media representatives took interview from the Minister F. Mammadov during the conference, by showing great interest in the reforms and achievements gained in our country.
A solemn meeting dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Ministry was held at the Belarusian National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater within the framework of anniversary events. The event was attended by the congratulatory message of the President of the Republic of Belarus, there was held awarding ceremony, special film dedicated to the anniversary was demonstrated, and cultural program and banquet was organized.
The leadership of the Bar of Azerbaijan was represented in the event, and the ambassador of our country in Belarus Latif Gandilov attended the meeting.
