The Cooperation Agreement has been signed and effective mutual activity is carried out between the Ministries of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of China. A delegation led by the chief counselor of the Ministry of Justice of China – Vice-Minister Pu Zengfan arrived in our country on September 16 for being acquainted with the expansion of relations, justice and judicial reform, as well as anti-corruption practices.
The guests first visited the graves of our compatriots in the Alley of Martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our country.
Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov met with Chinese delegation.
Noting the friendly and fruitful cooperation between the two countries, the Minister emphasized the special role of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Governance of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in development of these relations, talked about legal relations between the two countries, noted the signing of an important interstate agreement in this field during the visit of the head of our state to China in 2015 and the exchange of delegations and said that there are good opportunities for expanding cooperation.
Expressing satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan, the guest noted that the two peoples have friendly relations with ancient history, the development of bilateral relations in various fields, including among judicial bodies, and expressed readiness to deepen mutual cooperation and expressed the greetings of the Minister of Justice of China.
On the same day, the guests had a meeting with the Vice-Minister of Justice Azar Jafarov, and the Delegations of the Ministries of Justice had a detailed exchange of views on the judicial-legal system of the two countries and the reforms in this area. P.Zengfan showed great interest in the activities of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice in various areas, including in legislation, e-services, recruitment, international cooperation and in other fields, and stressed the importance of exchange of good experience.
The Chief counselor – Vice-minister was also informed about legislative, institutional and practical measures taken against corruption at the political will of the head of our state, there was stressed the effective international anti-corruption cooperation and the role of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities, which was established by support of Azerbaijan and which foundation conference was held in China and which Vice-president is the Minister of Justice of our country.
The guests got acquainted with the Museum of Justice History in the ministry.
During the visit, the Chinese delegation has meetings at the State Examination Center, at the General Department for struggle against Corruption under the Public Prosecutor.
The guests are also expected to familiarize themselves with the use of modern judicial infrastructure and e-court system, as well as with the important activities of the ASAN Service Centers, which are Azerbaijani brands in provision of citizens’ satisfaction and in anti-corruption activities.
