There was held a meeting with the chairmen of the municipalities’ national associations at the Business center for municipalities of the Ministry of Justice on March 13.
The actual problems on quicker co-ordination of the municipalities’ works, provision of legality and transparency in their activity, elimination of met impediments and other problems were discussed at the meeting.
There was noted that, progressive reforms in all fields of the country’s life were realized under the leadership and initiative of the President Ilham Aliyev, as well as new stage of reforms on increase of profitability of public administration was started and the municipalities improved their works.
There was made exchange of ideas on increase of activity of municipalities in solution of local social-economic issues, large use of achievements of information-communication technologies in this field, as well as about importance of appliance of electron document circulation and separate electron services.
At the same time, there was noted the execution of the event on "Improvement of Municipalities' Responsibilities for the Socio-Economic Development of the Villages" envisaged in the Action Plan of the “Strategic Road Map for the Production and Processing of Agricultural Products in the Republic of Azerbaijan” approved by the Head of State on December 6, 2016, as well as the assistance to the municipalities in execution of duties on management of cemeteries, in collection of local taxes and payments and in achievement of increase of employment of local population, and for this purpose the importance of increase of activity of the national associations was noted.
There was stressed at the meeting the enhancement of international relations of the municipalities, as well as cooperation of the national associations with Turkish World Municipal Association, increase of efforts in active participation of women and youth in local self-government and in other directions.
