On June 4, the minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov held a meeting with the delegation led by the World Bank’s Regional Director for the South Caucasus Mrs. Mercy Tembon, who visited our country for taking part in the forum on the theme of “Achievements of the Justice Sector in Azerbaijan: Look on the past and future” held in Baku by the organization of the World Bank.

The importance of the forum in presentation of the achievements gained as a result of joint projects in the field of justice to the large auditorium, as well as to the international world was mentioned at the meeting, where effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and World Bank was stressed.

The Minister emphasized a support of the World Bank in the reforms held on modernization of the judicial-legal system under the leadership of the President Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the execution of the Decree “On deepening of the reforms in the judicial-legal system” on April 3, 2019, which is a “Road map” in development of justice and judicial system opened new opportunities for development of cooperation and noted the importance of the World Bank’s participation in implementation of forthcoming duties and in full appliance of the “Electron court” information system.

Mrs. M.Tembon, stressing successful cooperation of the World Bank with Azerbaijan, noted an exemplary progress of our country, stressed political will of the Azerbaijan President in continuation of judicial-legal reforms and approved the achievements gained in joint projects, including increase of efficiency of justice judgment and appliance of electron court.

She noted that, the projects of the Bank in the field of justice were evaluated as a model project in the world and became an example for other states. Those projects were met with great impression during the presentation in Washington in April and Azerbaijan’s achievements were emphasized as estimable. Other states appeal to the World Bank for taking advantage from the positive experience of our country.

Mrs. M.Tembon stated that, her commissions in Azerbaijan were expired and she presented a new regional director of the Bank Sebastian Molenos. The minister expressed his gratitude to Mrs. M. Tembon for effective cooperation and wished successful activity to S.Molenos.

S. Molenos, witnessing the successful achievements of joint projects, stressed that, the World Bank is ready to support judicial-legal reforms and they will do their best for future development of the effective relations.
