As part of the event, a session of the ministers of justice entitled "Digital face of justice in the new era" was held. The Minister of Justice of Azerbaijan Mr. Fikrat Mammadov spoke at the live session on the Internet and shared the positive experience of our country in this field.

Noting that the development of ICT in Azerbaijan is one of the main priorities of socio-economic progress until 2030, the Minister stressed that the application of digital technologies has raised civil servant relations to a whole new level, preventing corruption and procrastination, and thus serving people's well-being. He noted that digitalization is more widely used in the field of justice and the judiciary, and the global pandemic has made this process even more urgent and accelerated.

It was noted that within the framework of reforms in the judicial system under the leadership of the President Mr. Ilham Aliyev, with the participation of the World Bank, the judicial infrastructure was modernized and high-tech (hi-tech) courts were created, "electronic court" information system was applied.

It was noted that the e-Court, which covers the entire process from the moment of the right to appeal to the completion of the execution of court decisions, significantly expands access to justice, ensures transparency and efficiency. Proceedings on commercial disputes have been conducted only electronically for several years.

At the same time, the participants learned about the application of "Mobile Court", the use of artificial intelligence, etc. It was noted that the legislation was operatively amended to ensure that court cases are considered in a video conference in a pandemic situation.

The Minister also spoke about the diversified electronic justice provided to citizens, including remote notarial services provided via remote video communication, the introduction of mobile notaries, emphasizing that our achievements in this area are of international interest and many foreign countries have benefited from our positive experience. In this sense, the innovative activity of "ASAN service", which has become an "exported" brand of Azerbaijan, was noted.

In his speech he stressed the creation of "smart cities" and "smart villages" using digital technologies within the framework of the large-scale restoration works carried out in our lands liberated from occupation under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev and completely destroyed by Armenia.
