Recently, there have been cases of individuals posing as employees of structural units of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan calling municipal council members and demanding payments under various pretexts.
We would like to clarify that the Ministry of Justice’s activities concerning municipalities involve assisting in the organisation of their work, providing methodological support and exercising administrative oversight.
No state duty or any other form of payment is предусмотрed to be paid to the Ministry in connection with these activities, and no such payment demands are made to municipalities.
Municipal officials are advised to remain vigilant and not to trust suspicious calls, messages or any other unlawful demands for payment made through other means.
