According to the Decree of the UNO’s General Assembly on September 20, 1993, the 15th of May is celebrated as an International Family Day each year in the world since 1994.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Justice jointly with the Executive Power of Nizami district held a meeting in Nizami Cinema Centre on the theme of “Healthy family is the social support of the state”.
The event was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, Press Council, Executive Power of Nasimi district, civil society representatives, psychologists, including families from the regions living together for 25-50 years, old men and women and young families.
The first deputy of the Head of the Executive Power of Nasimi district Gulara Verdiyeva and the Head of the Department of Human Rights and Public Relations Aynur Sabitova made a speech in the meeting noting that, the International Family Day is also widely celebrated in our country and emphasized that, the present event serves for directing the attention of all people of our planet to solution of family problems.
It was stressed that, state family policy founded by the national leader Heydar Aliyev is successfully realized in our country and the family is always under the custody the state as a core of the society. Care and attention of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the First Vice-president Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva to each family, protection of family values and measures on strengthening of social protection of families are brought to the notice of the participants.
A chief of the Registry Service of civil status acts Reyhana Karimova, vice-chairman of the Press Council Umud Mirzayev, president of the “Constitution” Researches Fund Alimammad Nuriyev and others noted that, the columns of the family institution in Azerbaijan lean against the values as respect of the elder, devotion to head of family and mutual love.
Then, a film was demonstrated “About the real love” talking about the life of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, whose rich and sensible life was an example for each family.
At the same time, the members of the long-life families told about the way of their life and gave their recommendations to newly married young people. Further, the families with 25-50 years of joint life were presented presents.
The event was continued by the concert of the artistic collective of Baku Music Academy, Music College under the Azerbaijan National Conservatoire and Children’s and Youth Development Centre No. 3.
