Global Lawyers Forum on the theme of “Scientific-technical progress and legal services” was held in Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China.
The delegation led by the Vice-minister of justice of Azerbaijan Toghrul Musayev participated in the worthy forum attended by about 800 representatives from 60 states of the world, including government members of the foreign countries, heads of the justice and judicial authorities, the Bar and other lawyers.
The opening speech was made by the Minister of Justice of China, leaders of the province of Guandong and influential international organizations.
The event discussed actual issues on provision of legal services by public and private sectors, the impact of science and information technology on this area, etc. and presentations were made in the high-level segment of the forum.
Speaking about the use of digital technologies in rendering legal services and application in the judicial system in Azerbaijan, Vice-Minister T.Musayev spoke about the legislative and institutional reforms under the leadership of the President Ilham Aliyev in this area, noted the creation of e-government and effective operation of ASAN Service, which is an Azerbaijani brand.
There was also provided information on the innovations and digital technologies used in the justice and judicial systems in our country, such as the "Electron court" information system, "Mobile court", as well as "Mobile Notary" software, electron justice kiosk, mobile notary bag allowing rendering of remote notary services.
The text of the speech and brochures on digital technologies and innovations in Azerbaijan and the "Electron Court" were distributed among the participants and the Azerbaijani experience was welcomed with interest.
During the visit a bilateral meeting was held with Chinese Minister of Justice Fu Jenghua. During the meeting, the sides highlighted the political will of the heads of state to strengthen cooperation between Azerbaijan and China, the fruitful implementation of the Agreement on cooperation between the Ministries of Justice of the two countries and the benefits of reciprocal visits. The Chinese Minister conveyed his respect and greetings to his Azerbaijani counterpart. There was also highlighted the importance of the forum, the China initiative "One Pipeline, One Path", which opened wide opportunities for the development of Eurasia and emphasized that Azerbaijan was one of the first supporters of this initiative.
Meetings were held with the Ministers of Justice of Uzbekistan, Laos and Morocco, the vice-Ministers of Justice of Russia and Cambodia.
The forum and bilateral meetings highlighted the bitter consequences of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, noting the long-standing non-
implementation of UN resolutions and decisions requiring immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian troops from our occupied lands, as well as there was emphasized that, destructive statements of the Armenian leadership interfered in negotiations for peaceful solution of problem, and that there is need for a serious reaction.
During the visit, our delegation visited the Legal Services Center of the Department of Justice of Guangdong Province and familiarized with the activities of the department, the scope of legal services provided to the population and the application of the latest information technologies.
