60 years have passed since the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of the Child, and 30 years after the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The date of adoption of these important documents is declared November 20 - World Children's Day. World Children's Day, devoted to activities aimed at improving the welfare of children around the world by the UN General Assembly, is widely celebrated in our country.

In connection with this, within the framework of the Child Rights Month announced on October 20 - November 20 for the purpose of increase of attention to children, the Ministry of Justice, together with relevant government agencies and NGOs organized different meetings in the child organizations, secondary schools by participation of children, who are the most sensible and frail layer of our society. The orphanages were visited, the minors were given every support, trainings were held in the Academy of Justice on the theme of child rights. For the inmates of penitentiary institutions in the penitentiary there have been organized public awareness campaigns on the integration of juvenile prisoners, their knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, as well as the protection and prevention of all forms of violence against children.

As part of the ongoing activities, the Ministry of Justice together with the Executive Power of Nasimi District, Baku city held an educational meeting on "Child Rights Month" at the secondary schools No. 46 and 54.

Leaders and officials of the Ministry, including the Academy of Justice and the Forensic Examination Center, Nasimi District Executive Power and the school, senior students, teachers and parents attended the meetings on the eve of November 9 - the National Flag Day.

The chief of the Department of Human Rights and Public Relations Aynur Sabitova, deputy head of the Executive Power of Nasimi district Gulara Verdiyeva, director of the school No. 46 Sevinj Budagova and director of the school No. 54 Sahiba Abbasova made speeches in the opening and told about high care of the national leader Heydar Aliyev towards children’s comprehensive development, systematic and purposeful measures serving reliable maintenance of child rights in our country. They stressed that, important steps were made on successful realization of child policy by the President Ilham Aliyev, strengthening of children’s social maintenance, and for their growth as a worthy individual in the happy, healthy environment of high moral standards. The services of the First Vice-president of Azerbaijan Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva were noted in successful implementation of multilateral initiatives in this area.

In the events there were spoken on the subjects like “Yes to life, no to narcotics” danger of new kind of narcotics” by Sabina Gadirova, the chief of the Biological Examinations sector of the Forensic Examination Centre, “Conception of cyberbullying and information safety” by Mammad Ramazanov, the expert of the Centre and “Holding of judgement on juvenile crimes: juvenile justice” by Matanat Asgarova, head teacher of the Academy of Justice. They recommended to be far from cyber and other crimes, bad habits which are a danger for the life and health of children, the pupils were said to grow up as patriot, intellectual citizens faithful to national and moral values, enlightenment slides were demonstrated on the subjects, and the questions interested the pupils were answered.

The attenders emphasized the importance of holding such enlightenment meetings on such actual themes for the pupils.

At the end, the pupils performed with literary and artistic composition.
