The General Meeting of the Department of Social Sciences of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has been held.
The general meeting began with an exhibition of books and magazines reflecting the achievements of research institutions included in the unit.
The event was attended by ANAS Vice President, Academician Isa Habibbayli, Academic Secretary of the Department, Academician Nargiz Akhundova, members of the Bureau, heads of scientific institutions, scientific secretaries and other persons.
Speaking about the activities of the Department of Social Sciences, Academician Isa Habibbayli noted that in recent years multidisciplinary researches have been expanded and important scientific results have been achieved.
Reports on the results of research works made in 2019 in the scientific institutions within the Department of Social Sciences were heard at the general meeting.
The reports contain extensive information on the important scientific results achieved at the institutes and the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, the orders and state programs of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the decisions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The manual “Criminal research methods of narcotics and psychotropic substances”, written by doctor of philosophy on law Hamlet Musayev, Deputy chief of the Forensic Examination Centre of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Gadirova, the chief of Biological examinations department, Elvin Aslanov, the chief of the Physical and chemical examinations department and the senior expert Gulshan Hummatova, is included in the report on the significant results of the section
