A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between the Forensic Examination Center of the Ministry of Justice and Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction with the aim of promoting the development of the forensic examination system in the Republic of Azerbaijan in line with modern challenges, training highly qualified forensic experts, and strengthening the integration of science and practice.

Under the Memorandum, the parties will cooperate in the training of highly qualified professionals and their engagement in forensic examination activities, the inclusion of elective courses on forensic examination in relevant academic programmes, the organization of theoretical and practical training for forensic experts in accordance with international standards, as well as the continuous improvement of their knowledge and skills.

Within the framework of the cooperation, arrangements will be made for students pursuing bachelor's and master's degrees at the university in fields such as architecture, civil engineering, urban planning, materials engineering, geomatics and geodesy engineering, land management and real estate cadastre, information technology, information security, mechanical engineering, process automation engineering, and other specialties to undertake internships at the Forensic Expertise Center. At the same time, plans are in place to develop specialized training programs, conduct scientific research, and implement joint projects in the fields of forensic construction and technical examination, forensic computer and technical examination, forensic land surveying, as well as the investigation of road traffic accidents and occupational safety assessments.

The Memorandum establishes an important cooperation platform that will contribute to expanding scientific knowledge in the field of forensic examination, strengthening the links between education and practice, engaging young specialists in forensic activities, and supporting the development of forensic services in the country in accordance with international standards.

It should be noted that the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed to implement the measures envisaged in the “2026–2030 Concept for the Development of Forensic Examination in the Republic of Azerbaijan”, approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 December 2025, including the identification of the basic higher education fields required for the qualification of forensic experts and the involvement of qualified specialists from these fields in forensic examination activities.
