According to the instructions of the President Ilham Aliyev on the development of the judiciary, including the improvement of the penitentiary system, purposeful measures are being taken to protect the health of prisoners and accused persons, and to improve the quality of medical services provided to them. Positive results have been achieved in fruitful cooperation with international organizations in this area and many countries are already benefiting from the experience of Azerbaijan.
In order to modernize the penitentiary sector, as well as to strengthen the medical care of the staff of the Ministry of Justice, taking into account the need for highly qualified physicians, the admission of students to the Military Medical Faculty of the Azerbaijan Medical University has been carried out since 2009 for the Ministry according to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers. The Ministry maintains regular contacts with these students throughout the study period, tans them the specifications of passing service in the penitentiary and medical services, and creates all the necessary conditions for their professional skills by passing practices.
This year, 15 graduates of the Military Medical Faculty of the Azerbaijan Medical University, trained for the Ministry of Justice, have been sent to the Ministry's order.
Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov received young doctors who were recruited to the judiciary.
Before the event, the youth who visited the grave of the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, national leader of our nation Heydar Aliyev laid flowers at the monument to the genius and honored the memory.
Speaking at the event, Minister Fikrat Mammadov highlighted the continuous socio-economic progress of our republic, the most reforming countries in the world and high achievements in all areas under the leadership of His Excellency President Ilham Aliyev, who continued and developed the National Leader’s political course, gave information about the works carried out on modernization and development of Azerbaijan Justice and spoke about the high concern of our state for the comprehensive development of young people.
He said that, in accordance with the state youth policy successfully implemented in our country, youth are widely represented in the judiciary. Their employment is always kept in focus and they are recruited through transparent choices with the use of modern ICTs and with the participation of civil society institutions. At present, about half of the staff working in the justice system is
young people, and they are successfully working in various areas of the justice sector.
At the same time, it is widely reported that more than 600 justice volunteers are involved in the justice sector, which is a widespread volunteer movement in the country.
Talking about the reforms in the penitentiary system and medical service, the Minister gave instructions to the graduates for loyal service to the statehood, careful attention to the people, proper performance of their duties, and adherence to ethical behavior rules and wished them successful activity.
Speaking graduates stressed that, they will work diligently for the sake of the future progress of our independent Azerbaijan, will be a worthy assistant to the head of the country, who continues state youth policy, and promised to implement their duties with responsibility and to hold and keep the name of justice officers with honour.
