A scientific-practical seminar on the role of forensic examination in combating corruption crimes has been held in Baku. The event was co-organized by the Forensic Examination Center of the Ministry of Justice and the Academy of Justice .
The seminar was arranged as part of the "National Action Plan for 2022–2026 on Strengthening the Fight against Corruption." Participants focused on the role of forensic examinations in investigating corruption offenses, the current challenges in this area, and other relevant issues.
During the event, presentations were delivered on several key topics, including criminal law and criminological aspects of anti-corruption efforts, new challenges such as influence peddling, the importance of forensic examination in verifying document authenticity in corruption cases, the collection and examination of digital evidence, the role of forensic accounting examinations, and the use of phonoscopic and linguistic expert analyses in corruption-related proceedings.
The seminar brought together representatives from the Forensic Examination Center, the Academy of Justice , the Prosecutor General's Office, the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku State University, the National Aviation Academy, the Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Bar Association, and other government institutions. Legal scholars and forensic experts also attended.
The main goal of the seminar was to discuss the scientific and practical aspects of forensic examination in detecting, investigating, and proving corruption crimes, to exchange experiences, and to contribute to further developing cooperation and effective dialogue among relevant institutions.
A scientific-methodological guide titled "Criminal Law and Criminological Aspects of Anti-Corruption" was also presented during the event.
