Successful gender policy is being implemented in our country in the framework of democratic legal reforms that promote more reliable protection of human rights, the solution of women's problems is always in the focus of the state and society.

Comprehensive progressive reforms led by the President Ilham Aliyev are aimed at improving the well-being of every family, as well as securing the rights of various sections of our society, including women. The purposeful and important measures undertaken by the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva in this direction are welcomed by the public.

One of the most important issues in society is an inadmissibility of the inhumane treatment towards women, the abuse, violence and so on. Like most developed countries in the world, Azerbaijan takes important steps to prevent gender-based violence.

Various enlightenment measures are held as part of the 16-day activity campaign "Stop Violence Against Women and Girls!" held for the purpose of involving the attention of public in the struggle against gender-based violence.

The Ministry of Justice, which participates in the promotion of human rights and freedoms, cooperates with local and international NGOs in this field, held a public hearing for women on November 29 in collaboration with the Executive Power of Nasimi district, Baku city.

The event was attended by senior officials of the ministry and executive power, a member of the Presidium of the Bar, members of the judiciary, notaries, judges, police, representatives of civil society institutions, and numerous women from the region.

Speaking at the event, the First Deputy Head of Nasimi District Executive Power Gulara Verdiyeva and the Chief of the Department of Human Rights and Public Relations of the Ministry of Justice Aynur Sabitova highlighted the importance of the event aimed at legal education of women and their interest in family care, talked about important steps that have been taken for provision of women’s rights, which are the sensible layer of society in our country.

During the question-and-answer event, each appeal was carefully listened, the raised issues was addressed to the relevant government agencies, the rights of women and the legislation were clarified.
