There was written the chronicle of the victory of our people and our army in the Patriotic war for the liberation of our lands, which ended with the Great Victory, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
From the first days of the war, employees of the Ministry of Justice, court staff and their families, as well as justice volunteers went to the front with a high sense of patriotism and took part in the fighting. An employee of the ministry's staff, who showed courage and bravery in military operations, as well as a family member of four justice workers were killed for faith.
On March 4, Minister of Justice Mr. Fikrat Mammadov met with justice workers and volunteers who took part in the Patriotic War, in strict compliance with the requirements of the special quarantine regime in connection with the global pandemic.
Before the meeting, the war veterans visited the grave of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honors and laid flowers at the monument. Dear memory of our heroic sons who died for the freedom of our people and the territorial integrity of our country, as well as justice worker Ruhin Khalilov, who was killed in the Patriotic War, was commemorated in the Alley of Martyrs.
The event began with the sound of the national anthem. The memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War was commemorated with a minute of silence.
The Minister of Justice congratulated the participants on the Great Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War under the wise and invincible leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the staff of the ministry for their courage and self-sacrifice in the battles, showing a true example of citizenship.
He said that due to the military-political success of our country, the heroism of our army, our lands, which had been held captive by the enemy for 30 years, were liberated from occupation at the cost of the blood and lives of our martyrs, and our territorial integrity was ensured.
It was noted that huge structural works were being carried out under the leadership of the President to restore the liberated territories. It was noted that the regular visits of the President and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva to the region ensured the revival of our native lands and a great return.
At the same time, they spoke about the measures taken to improve the social protection and welfare of the participants of the Patriotic War, and noted that the families of martyrs and wounded servicemen are covered by comprehensive state care.
It was noted that since the beginning of the war, justice workers have served in battles, including in voluntary form, as well as showing solidarity with our army, supporting our servicemen, the wounded and the families of martyrs. They voluntarily transferred funds from salaries to the Armed Forces Assistance Fund and YASHAT Foundation. At the same time, doctors of the ministry's medical service provided necessary medical care to the wounded during the war, blood donation campaigns were held in the justice and judicial authorities, the ministry's staff regularly visited our servicemen treated in military hospitals and gave them presents.
The ministry also said that it was constantly interested in the care of employees who took part in the fighting, including the families of martyrs, and provided the necessary assistance, keeping their problems in mind.
The event highlighted the high state awards of justice workers for their courageous participation in the battles for the territorial integrity of our country, honorable fulfillment of official duties and deep gratitude was expressed to the head of state.
The employees shared their memories of the war and expressed great pride in their participation in the Patriotic War for the liberation of our lands, emphasizing that our servicemen were treated with great care and attention both during and after the war. They noted that they consider it their obligation and civic duty to unite closely around the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and to serve our state and people for the defense and progress of our Motherland.
At the meeting, the Order of the Minister of Justice on justice workers who took part in the Patriotic War was announced and awards were presented to the awarded war veterans.
The participants got acquainted with the Heydar Aliyev and Justice History Museums of the Ministry, as well as a newly established special corner dedicated to the Great Victory in the Patriotic War won under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
