A meeting was held at the Academy of Justice with a delegation led by the mayor of Druskininkai of the Republic of Lithuania, Richardas Malinauskas, who is visiting our country in order to enhance the relations between the local authorities of Azerbaijan and Lithuania.
Main aim of the meeting, held by presence of the representatives of the Centre for works with Municipalities, Academy of Justice, chairmen of the National Municipal Associations, members of Baku and Absheron municipalities, was a development of international cooperation in the field of local self-government and making of mutual exchange of experience.
The essence of the progressive reforms made on improvement of public administration under the leadership of the President Ilham Aliyev, including increase of efficiency of local self-government, and the importance of activation of participation of municipalities in different fields of the country life was emphasized in the event. Development of relations in the field of local self-government and efficiency of mutual exchange of experience between two countries was brought into notice.
A mayor of Druskininkai city made a large speech on the local self-government in the Republic of Lithuania and answered the questions of the event attenders.
